Data protection
Privacy Policy
How Cœurs Hors Ligne collects, uses and protects its users' personal data.
Last updated: 4 October 2026
This policy will be updated as the final payment, certification and other service providers are selected.
1. Data controller
The controller responsible for the processing carried out in connection with Cœurs Hors Ligne is currently Christophe Aigouy, and subsequently the sole proprietorship operating Cœurs Hors Ligne once it is registered.
Contact regarding personal data: support@coeurshorsligne.fr .
2. Data that may be processed
- registration and identification data;
- contact details and account information;
- information making up the profile;
- dating preferences and questionnaire answers;
- photos and content voluntarily submitted;
- information required for certification procedures;
- connection data and security information;
- support exchanges and reports;
- data required for billing when paid services are opened;
- audience measurement data where consent has been given.
3. Sensitive data
Certain profile information may reveal, in particular, sexual orientation or other elements falling within special categories of personal data within the meaning of the GDPR.
Where such processing is based on consent, Cœurs Hors Ligne obtains explicit, freely given, specific and informed consent.
The data subject may withdraw this consent under the conditions provided by the service, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
4. Purposes
Data may in particular be used to:
- create, secure and manage accounts;
- display and operate profiles;
- offer compatibility results and introductions;
- carry out certification procedures;
- prevent fraud, abuse and dangerous behaviour;
- manage reports and moderation;
- respond to support requests;
- ensure the operation and technical security of the website;
- comply with legal and regulatory obligations;
- measure audience statistics after consent.
5. Legal bases
Depending on the purpose, processing may be based on performance of the contract or pre-contractual measures, compliance with a legal obligation, the legitimate interests of Cœurs Hors Ligne, consent or, for special categories of personal data, explicit consent or any other basis permitted by applicable law.
6. Recipients and processors
Data is accessible only to persons and service providers who need access to it in order to operate the service.
The infrastructure is notably provided by OVHcloud, which acts as a service provider and, for the processing concerned, as a processor under the conditions set out in its data processing agreement.
Google Analytics may receive audience measurement data only after the user has given consent.
Future payment or verification providers will be identified in this policy when they are actually activated.
7. Retention period
Data is retained for a period proportionate to the purposes pursued and is not kept longer than necessary, subject to legal obligations relating to retention, evidence and archiving.
A detailed retention schedule will be maintained and updated when commercial services open and the various features of the service are activated.
8. Security
Cœurs Hors Ligne implements technical and organisational measures designed to limit unauthorised access, loss, alteration, disclosure and misuse of data.
These measures include, in particular, the use of HTTPS, access management, logging of certain operations, backups and account protection mechanisms.
9. Your rights
Subject to the conditions provided by applicable law, you may in particular request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability or exercise your right to object.
Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
Requests may be sent to: support@coeurshorsligne.fr .
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL.
10. International transfers
Certain technical service providers may process data from countries outside the European Economic Area. Where necessary, such transfers must be governed by the safeguards required by applicable law.
CHL survey and newsletter
The email address requested during the survey is linked to the answers to manage participation and verification. These submissions are therefore not described as anonymous. Explicit consent is requested before processing the answers, including sexual orientation when provided.
Receiving CHL news, updates and event announcements requires a separate choice, unchecked by default. Only people who make that choice and confirm their address become newsletter subscribers. Consent, its version and date are recorded. Declining the newsletter does not remove the founder benefit.
Each newsletter includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing stops future sends; a message already being sent may still arrive. Survey answers are not used to select recipients by sexual orientation or family situation. You can exercise your rights using the contact methods listed on this page.
